Forsaken I - II (oil paintings on wood panel, 24” 18”), 2023

Patients in critical care are often on the edge of life and death, and inadvertently dehumanized and treated like objects, this work attempts to have the viewer see the face of the patient, appreciate the person and rehumanize the afflicted in their suffering. This work also begins to reflect on end of life issues that we all will face; is there life after death? What is behind the mysterious veil?
